Cats are notoriously hard to buy for at Christmas, but a stocking filler under £5 does not need to try hard. A cat is just as happy with a foil sachet of treats or a jingly toy as anything more elaborate, so this budget covers the basics without any guesswork.
The list is a mix of Catit treats and toys, a Pets at Home Christmas cat advent calendar with catnip and yoghurt treats, a Felix Christmas Selection Box from Zooplus, and Lords & Labradors' Rosewood Feline Festive Pick 'N' Mix. How to choose stocking fillers for cats
- Treats are the safest bet. Most cats will investigate a new sachet of treats before they touch a new toy.
- Keep toys simple. A catnip mouse or a jingle ball wins over anything with parts that can be chewed off.
- Try an advent calendar for the run-up. A cat-safe advent calendar spreads the excitement over December rather than using it all on one day.
- Buy more than one small thing. Two or three £1 to £2 treats fill a stocking better than a single £5 item.
